We had a sort of open morning. So some read in the sun, tanned, talked, laughed, and some people even played Tennis and Badminton. The morning was nice peaceful and relaxing. That’s life at Our Cabana.

The day started out by taking a bus trip to the pyramid ruins at Xochicalco. The girls explored all around the site and even entered the cave “observatory” used by the ancient people for astronomical reasons. After lunch, we returned to the Cabana and the fun continued by participating in the camp’s “WAGGGS Olympics”. These games celebrated the similarities, differences,
and importance of Girl Guides and the Olympic Games this summer. The girl shared both physical and mental challenges. Overall, the Gold Medalists for Athletics were the Tulipanes and the gold for Spirit went to the Laureles dorm. The night ended great hearing all the dorms compete in a karaoke contest. It was a lot of fun!!!

Today, we went to Tepotzlán. We visited a cathedral and the guides gave us a tour. In the markets, we bought dresses, fantastic ice cream, souvenirs, dolls, books and more. When we returned to the Cabana, we talked about peace, and drew tattoos of peace on each other. We had a fabulous day!!!

Today was an extremely exciting day! We had the opportunity to do a service project and work with underprivileged children. We did crafts, played games, and ate lunch together. After lunch we had the privilege of playing with the children. We played tennis, soccer, bat mitten, parachute, and the children played on the swings. Some of the children enjoyed the crafts so much that they went back to make another. It was tons of fun! After we had to say goodbye, we cleaned up from a very amazing morning. Tonight is also International Night! Isn’t that exciting?!
