The Four World Centres
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) owns four World Centres: Pax Lodge in the UK, Our Cabaña in Mexico, Our Chalet in Switzerland, and Sangam in India.
Providing a warm, comfortable, friendly place to stay, each World Centre is a "home away from home" for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the world, where they can feel part of a family of new and old friends. The Centres provide visitors with the opportunity to participate in challenging activities while discovering new cultures.
Just 20 minutes from the heart of London, Pax Lodge is on the edge of one of the most popular and exciting capital cities in the world. The centre offers a convenient place to stay whilst exploring the city’s historical sights and is an international gathering place for WAGGGS members and non-members.
It is the oldest WAGGGS World Centre. It opened in 1932 as a place where girls and adults from all over the world could come together and share the Girl Guide/Girl Scout Spirit while having adventures in the Swiss Alps.
It offers a rich experience of Indian life within a safe, friendly multi-cultural environment. Activities include trying Indian foods, clothes, music, dance and crafts, learning about Indian traditions and religions, visiting Indian families, local temples and street markets and giving practical service to children and women in local community organizations.
