16 days to make girls hear: join our online seminar- Each year, from 25 November to 10 December, women’s organizations, advocates and activists around the world join together for the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence Campaign”. This campaign links the International Day Against Violence Against Women on 25 November with International Human Rights Day on 10 December.

Leymah Gbowee wins the Nobel Peace Prize for 2011- We are pleased to announce that Leymah Gbowee has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2011. Leymah is a valued partner of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. She spoke at the first of WAGGGS’ flagship centenary events, the Young Women’s World Forum 2010 and sits on the Council of Ambassadors for our Global Girls Fund.
New World Thinking Day 2012 materials now available- Each year on 22 February, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world celebrate World Thinking Day. It’s a day when Girl Guides and Girl Scouts think of each other and give thanks and appreciation for the international friendship they find in our Movement.
