Thinking Day 2010 at Our Cabana
23 February 2010
Our Cabaña World Thinking Day Celebration 2010
On Sunday 21st February, participants on the annual Thinking Day and Butterfly event at Our Cabaña from Canada, USA, UK, Jordan and Venezuela, volunteers and staff from Mexico, UK, USA, Canada, Argentina and Sweden were joined by over 150 members of the Mexican Guides to celebrate Thinking Day.
Together participants and Mexican Guides took part in games and activities to learn more about WAGGGS 2010 World Thinking Day Theme “Girls worldwide say: Together we can end extreme poverty and hunger”. Some of the activities included trading games, fact hunts and building relay races.
Guides and Girl Scouts took action around this theme by packing care packages to be distributed to poor members of the community in Cuernavaca and buying packed lunches for over 100 kids from the VAMOS organization.
We also enjoyed an international sharing session, learning games, songs and activities from around the world to be taken home and shared with troops and units around the world to build international friendship and understanding.
During our Thinking Day Ceremony everyone received the 2010 World Thinking Day Badge, and the Mexican Guides also received a package of pins and badges as a special Thinking Day gift from our event participants.
