Our Cabaña welcomes participants from Jordan

17 February 2010

JordanFor our Thinking Day and Butterfly Event 2010, we are delighted to be able to welcome two participants from Jordan. This exciting visit from members of WAGGGS’ Arab Region was made possible through kind donations to our Yolo Scholarship project, which aims to increase the diversity of events and staff at Our Cabaña by offering scholarship visits to those who would not otherwise be able to come.

Abeer and Asma from Amman in Jordan are joining participants from Venezuela, Canada, UK, Argentina and the USA for this International Friendship Session where we will be celebrating Thinking Day together with over 100 members of the Guías de México. Together we will learn about and take action on the 2010 Thinking Day theme of Girls Worldwide Say: Together we can end Extreme Poverty and Hunger.

During this 9 night event, our participants will also be taking an overnight trip to Angangueo, to visit the migration site of the Monarch butterflies. We will also be visiting Toluca and Taxco, as well as taking part in a service project with seniors of the local community.

If you would like to attend our 2011 Thinking Day and Butterfly Session please do not hesitate to contact us.
