Volunteer
ing at Our Cabaña offers you the chance to:
- Live in Mexico and learn more about Mexican traditions and culture.
- Make friends with Guides and Scouts from around the world
- Improve your knowledge of WAGGGS, it’s Member Organizations, themes, projects, regions and World Centres
- Help run programs and activities for participants
- Develop new skills and abilities
- Be part of Service Projects in the city of Cuernavaca
- Visit local historical and archeological sites
- And much, much more.
We accept applications from any active members of WAGGGS. We currently offer 2 different voluntary positions. Please click the titles for more information on each role.
Program Voluntee
r: Volunteers come to Our Cabaña for a period of 6 - 10 weeks, depending on the season. The positions encompass all the duties required to help run a successful programme and also maintain the Centre to a high standard. Volunteer roles give individuals the opportunity to assist in all aspects of our programmes. Event Administrator: Six month position, working with the Deputy World Centre Manager and Administrative Assistant in the day to day administration of events and use of facilities at Our Cabaña, in accordance with the strategic and operational plan of Our Cabaña and the wider WAGGGS Mission.
Marketing Volunteer: assists the Deputy World Centre manager, on executing our Marketing and Communications plan. It is an opportunity to help raise the profile of the World Centre and to ensure its events and services are well publicised. It is an opportunity to gain relevant work experience in the field of marketing and communications while meeting people your own age from around the world. Six months position.
Closing Date:
- April 15 for those ones interested in being a volunteer during the autumn, winter or spring season (October - April)
- October 15 for those ones interested in being a volunteer during the summer season of the following year (June - September)
