Friends of Our Cabaña

The Friends of Our Cabaña is a support group composed of volunteers active in Girl Scout and Girl Guides who have a special interest in Our Cabaña, a WAGGGS program center located in Cuernavaca, Mexico. 

We have a two-fold purpose: (1) to raise funds for scholarships, operational expenses, and other needs as they arise; and (2) to promote Our Cabaña as an international program center while encouraging girls and adults to attend events there. 

The Friends of Our Cabaña raise as a group more that $100,000 annually. Each Friend’s personal annual goal is as follows: Germany, Jamaica, Australia and Mexico, $300 USD; Canada and Japan $500 USD; UK $600 USD; and USA $1650 USD. In all other countries the Friend’s goal is to be determined, taking into consideration their Member Organization’s fund raising policies. 

The Friends are accountable to the World Center Committee of WAGGGS. USA members are also accountable to the World Foundation for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, Inc., which approves and appoints candidates for membership. 

Membership is by a defined recommendation, references and approval process. 

We meet annually at Our Cabaña each February. Members are responsible for their own travel and expenses.
