World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Members' area

About

Our Cabaña is one of the four world centres owned by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. Each centre offers a unique Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting experience, influenced by the culture of the country and the international composition of our staff members. These two influences blend at Our Cabaña to produce a program that is unique to Mexico, unique to Our Cabaña, and unique to the time of your visit.

The Chief’s door, through which all visitors pass, is only the start of the experience of being at Our Cabaña. Behind this impressive blue door are five acres of gardens, many buildings and special places where friendships can begin and flourish. Our Cabaña opened in July 1957 and since that date has welcomed over 70,000 Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the world.

Let us offer you ...

a greeting smile so friendly and a handshake so warm

I just went to Our Cabana about 2 weeks ago. It was the trip of a life time! Our troop had so much fun, learned many new songs and games from girls from all over the world. Getting to meet the staff and volunteers from all around the world was awesome! This is definitely a trip I and our whole troop will never forget. We miss all of you and hope that you get the chance to come visit us up here in Alaska!

In Mexico there is a place full of love and laughter and it is the Cabana. As soon as I got there I didn´t want to leave, I have met so many new friends and I still keep in touch with them . I miss it dearley, I would do anything to go back there and I pray that one day I will be able to. I hold on dear to the memories that I have, the people I met met and the people I had to say goodbye to. But one thing will never change is the love I have fealt fom everybody at the Cabana and everybody who attended .If you are planing to visit there someday I have some advice. Make as many memories as possible, get alot of e-mail addresses and make some new friends.

I visited Our Cabana in 2007 for the Easter Celebrations and I was in the Llamaradas Dormitory Group. I was the only person from Wales in that group and made loads of friends there.

Hi There,

I am coming to do the Leading Teams and Cultural Diversity in WAGGGS course starting in just over a week. I am really excited and cannot wait to get there. I am coming from New Zealand and have never been to Mexico so it should be a great experience.

I am looking forward to meeting some new people as well as the time I will have at Ticalli after the session when I will do a bit of sight seeing.

Can't wait to see you all soon!

Katy

I was at Our Cabana last year for the Easter Celebrations and I had a great time there as I made a lot of friends from other countries. I still keep in touch with Sarah who was there with us online and also Renee, Shanavaz and the Girl Scouts who are in the California Scouts. My Patrol was called Llamaradas and I was the only girl from Wales in that group so the other three people I went with were in Tulipanes.
